That Metal Show New Season

That Metal Show returns for season 8 on VH1 Classic. I have been lucky enough to do the backstage sound on the last few seasons and have to say this has been my favorite so far. That Metal Show is hosted as always by the three hosts, Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine. All three of these guys are total Metal nuts who are not only great on the show but hilarious off camera as well, it’s a shame they can’t show all of it!

This season on That Metal Show there are even more legends of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal including Rick Neilsen, Lars Ulrich, Tom Morello and Sammy Hagar amongst others.

The new season of That Metal Show premieres on VH1 Classic on 08/20/11 at 11pm/10 central with a full hour long special featuring legendary Black Sabbath guitarist and riff master Tony Iommi.

Extra Yardage On The DIY Network

Extra Yardage is a brand new show on the DIY Network starring DIY superstar host Billy Derian. Jim Moncur is the Audio Supervisor on Extra Yardage and has had a great time shooting the first season which is currently wrapping up.

If you are at all interested in DIY, or just love fast paced informative TV with a dynamite host that is never boring, then Extra Yardage is well worth checking out. Even if you are not a big DIY fan, the show is a pure adrenalin rush and first class entertainment driven by Billy’s spot on, machine gun delivery.

This is definitely one show that never fails to give you new ideas and challenge you to push yourself to take on projects in your own home that you may not have done before, the work on each episode is done by regular homeowners and their friends and family, and the results are outstanding, no wonder Extra Yardage has instantly become one of the top rated shows on the network.

Cinema Audio Society Honors True Grit

Cinema Audio Society awards this year were awarded to True Grit, Temple Grandin, Boardwalk Empire, Deadliest Catch and 30 Days of Night: Dark Days amongst others. Taylor Hackford won the Cinema Audio Society Filmmaker Award and Jerry Wexler earned the Career Achievement honor.

HGTV Design School

Design School is a show that I was Audio Supervisor on for HGTV.

The show has started airing in the US after doing well in Canada, it was shot in Downtown LA at the prestigious Fashion Institute, home of Project Runway.
